My Love Song

Hope for tomorrow gets me through the day
Hope for the sunshine in the pouring rain.
I know you want me, I know you do
I see it clearly when I look at you.

When you look at me I finally see
Everything I hope for and I want to be.
When you hold me close I finally feel
Dreams deep inside of me becoming real.

Joy at the pathway laid before my eyes
Joy at the coming of the gold sunrise.
I know you want me, I know you do
I feel the fire when my arms hold you.

Peace in the knowledge that you’re by my side
Peace in the loss of all my foolish pride.
I know you want me, I know you do
I find myself completed when I’m here with you.

I wrote this while I was still "Lydia Joy Johnston". I don't know if I wrote it for a specific person or just for the idea of the person I wanted. All I know, is that at this moment in my life, this song applies to just one man. So, no matter anything that surrounded the situation which led me to write this, I dedicate this song to my wonderful husband, Abraham Michael Serafino. He is my love and my whole heart.

Tomato Lady

For Stacey, a friend who will carry my words when I can't find my voice.
I love you, sister.

Broken off, surrounded,
brightly cradled fears.
Filled, yet strangely empty,
hiding swollen tears.

Darkness slowly creeping,
shattered by the light.
Blood red, painted over,
glazing blurry sight.

Focus turns to fading,
importance slowly dims.
Soon it is forgotten,
like sweetly murmured hymns.

So fresh, and yet so bitter,
one taste; you long for more.
Yet summer drifts to cooler days,
it's all this season's for.
